South Suburban Darts Association Inc.
2016 Open Singles
The SSDA Inc. 2016 Open Singles were held at Forrestdale Sports Club on Tuesday 24th May and attracted 42 entries of which we had 35 men and 7 women.
The entries were down on last year and could be attributed to the wet and wild weather that we have experienced recently.
Two rounds of best of three reduced the field to the last 16 with most of the fancied players making it through. One notable exception was Harvey Mayell who unfortunately drew a hot Graeme Parker in his first match and was eliminated.
The last 16 played a round of best of five which left us with the top 8 who played best of seven to reduce down to the top 4.
The results of the top eight were:
Beau Anderson defeated Glenn Harper 4-2 (we had 5 x 180s in this superb match with Beau getting 4 of them)
Tim Pusey defeated Rory Harper 4-1
Graeme Parker defeated Brendon Postans 4-3
Steve Sutcliffe defeated Mick Zdun 4-2
The last 4 played a round of best of nine to find two players for the final.
The results of the top four were:
Beau Anderson defeated Tim Pusey 5-1
Graeme Parker defeated Steve Sutcliffe 5-4
In the final, played as best of eleven between Beau Anderson and Graeme Parker, Beau was victorious 6-2 in a very high class game with both players having opportunities to win.
Beau also topped the 180 list which saw 17 x 180s on the night.
Beau Anderson – 7 x 180s
Graeme Parker – 3
Glenn Harper – 2
Brendon Postans – 2
Joshua DaSilva – 1
Tim Pusey – 1
Steve Sutcliffe – 1
Congratulations to Beau Anderson who is our Open Singles Champion for 2016.
